| Description of project | |
The conversion of naturally occurring rock into broken & crushed stone products involves series of unit operations during mining drilling, blasting, loading and transportation during crushing, screening, conveying, loading and transferring of raw material and final products. All unit operations are potentially significant sources of particulate emission either from primary source itself or secondary fugitive dust. These may lead to adverse impact on surrounding environment, human and wildlife sanctuary/forest ecology. To evaluate this probable impacts a study based on the approach of local stone quarry lease holders were taken up by GEC during the year 2008-09. This study was conducted to prepare ISWAR, specifically to obtain NOC from the Department of Forest & Environment to carry out operation of mining and crusher units of Ms. Param Udhyog & Others. |

- Mangroves are salt tolerant plants growing on the coastal zone in the inter tidal area, and in estuaries of rivers.
- These plants occur in the world in tropical and subtropical areas.
- The Mangroves in Gujarat are second only to the Mangroves in the West Bengal on the East Coast in terms of area, occurring in about 936 sq. km.
- GEC has undertaken eco-restoration of mangroves covering about 6000 ha area along Gulf of Kachchh, Gulf of Khambhat and other stretches
